Visitors to St. Francisville and West Feliciana Parish Generated $30.6 Million in 2023, Boosting Local Economy and Job Growth
St. Francisville, LA – October 2, 2024 – West Feliciana Parish experienced a significant economic boost in 2023, with visitor spending reaching a total of $30.6 million, representing a 4% increase over the previous year, according to the Louisiana Office of Tourism. This substantial contribution supported 337 jobs and generated $10.3 million in employment earnings across the parish, highlighting the vital role tourism plays in the local economy.
In addition to supporting local employment, tourism significantly contributed to state and local tax revenues, with visitors generating $3.5 million in 2023. This represents a 2% increase over 2022, reinforcing the positive impact of tourism on West Feliciana Parish residence’s quality of life.
“Tourism is a cornerstone of our local economy, supporting hundreds of jobs and generating crucial tax revenue that helps fund essential services in our community,” said Devan Corbello, Executive Director of the West Feliciana Parish Tourist Commission (Visit St. Francisville). “The continued growth in visitor spending underscores St. Francisville’s appeal as a destination for both regional and out-of-state travelers—which can be attributed to initiatives that Visit St. Francisville has executed and investments by local entrepreneurs and government entities.”
Without the state and local taxes paid by visitors, each household in West Feliciana Parish would face an additional $826 in taxes annually, demonstrating the tangible benefits of tourism to the local population.
