One of the most notable sites is the Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site, which features a Greek Revival mansion and beautiful gardens. The Myrtles Plantation, often called one of America’s most haunted homes, is also located in West Feliciana Parish and offers tours to visitors. Other historical sites include the Port Hudson State Historic Site, which played a pivotal role in the Civil War, and the Centenary State Historic Site, a former college campus turned museum that showcases the history of Louisiana Methodism. Finally, the West Feliciana Historical Society Museum tells the story or St. Francisville and Bayou Sara, the once thriving port town that was lost to the Mississippi River in 1927.
