Nineteenth-Century Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, Apr. 12, area children and their parents can spend a day at Rosedown State Historic Site celebrating spring with a Nineteenth-Century Easter Egg Hunt on the grounds of the plantation.  Interpretive Ranger Sasha Traña will greet participants and lead the Easter Egg Hunt, which will begin promptly at 2 p.m., with participants meeting on the back porch of the Main House.  Following the Hunt, nineteenth-century games will be featured.  Participating children are encouraged to bring their own Easter baskets.
Rosedown State Historic Site is located on LA Highway 10 in St. Francisville, 30 minutes north of Baton Rouge, off US Highway 61. The site is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Guided tours of the main house are provided on the hour, beginning at 10 a.m. and concluding with the final tour of the day at 4 p.m.
