19th Century Funeral Presentation at Rosedown

In recognition of Halloween, site staff will present a program to visitors touring the Rosedown Main House.  During the 19th century funeral and mourning practices were very different than today and there were many superstitions associated with funerals and mourning customs that are not known today.   During the week of October 28, site staff will discuss with touring visitors the funeral and mourning superstitions and practices of the 19th century.  Also discussed will be myths and superstitions that were prevalent during the 19th century regarding death, funeral, and mourning practices.
