What to do in St. Francisville in October!

October is a time for crisp air, pumpkin spice, and spooky vibes! It is also one of the busiest months of the year for St. Francisville and West Feliciana Parish. Events like the Angola Rodeo, Yellow Leaf Arts Festival, and the Tunica Hills Multi-Family Garage Sale all return in October. It is also a time where people are a little more brave, so they’re visiting The Myrtles to try and get a peek at one of the long-time paranormal residents there. Between the beautiful weather and full events calendar, October and the rest of the Fall Season is a perfect time to plan your visit to St. Francisville!

Start out the month by snagging some great deals and unique finds with the Tunica Hills Multi-Family Garage Sale! It kicks off September 29th and continues through October 1st. In addition to the different stops along Hwy 66, there will be art vendors, food vendors, and food trucks along the route. You can find more information on their Facebook Page.

Sundays aren’t just for church and football; The Angola Prison Rodeo and Craft Show is also every Sunday in October! The Rodeo and Craft Show is an unique experience and draws visitors from all over the world. For more information about tickets and times, visit their website.

History buff? Visit Audubon State Historic Site to participate in their “Military Men of Oakley” program. You’ll learn about the military involvement of the generations of men that lived at Oakley House. Starting with the American Revolutionary War all the way through the Civil War. Oyster Bar Bingo

Reoccurring Events

No matter the month, we have a few events that are constant! Wednesday nights at 6 PM The Oyster Bar hosts Bingo Night. Will go home a winner? If so, you can use your winnings the next day to support local farmers and craftspeople at the St. Francisville Farmer’s Market, which is every Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm.

Things to do Around Town

Feeling a bit brave and a little spooky? The Myrtles is said to be one of the most haunted homes in America! Whether you are a believer, sceptic, or just curious, you can take a tour of the property and learn all about the histories and mysteries that surround the infamous home!

Afton Villa Gardens also opens October 1st for their Fall Season!

In between all of these events, you need to take the time to shop, eat, and explore our beautiful parish!
